Rotary at Work

Rotary at Work Day

It happens the last Saturday in April each year.  Started in 2006 as a joint effort between two Rotary Districts (one in the United States and one in Mexico), Rotarians at Work Day continues to grow. Each year, Clubs around the world identify a hands-on project that all members can participate in to help their local community. The day is a great way to revitalize your Club, bring in new members and generate publicity for Rotary.
Greg Miller, District 5150 Community Service Chair says, "Just look at what our Clubs are doing!"

Rotary Club of Tiburon/Belvedere
Our club is planning a work party that day to finalize the installation of a community

garden at our local 100-unit HUD-subsidized low-income housing project called The

Hilarita.
Michael Heckmann

Rotary Club of Belmont
Right now, the Belmont Club is in the planning stages for Rotary at Work
day. It looks like our project is to clean up the perimeter of Ralston
field at Ralston Middle School and do cutting back of foliage that resides
along the fence of the field and in the canyon behind the school. Between
school athletics, and community sports organizations like soccer and
baseball the field is well used.
Juli Balestrieri

Rotary Club of San Carlos
The San Carlos Rotary Club has decided to replant an island in a public parking lot

that is overgrown.  The parking lot is adjacent to a new grocery store going in and a

preschool.  We plan to improve the area with drought-tolerant plants and most likely

a lovely tree.  Go Rotary!
Christine Boland

Rotary Club of Sausalito
Sausalito will be working on the Field House in MLK park in Sausalito.  This was our

centennial project.  We will be doing some painting, pulling weeds to basically

sprucing it up.  Spring cleaning!
Chris Gallagher

Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay
The Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay will be restoring a Childrens Center on The

Coastside.  Our Interact Club will be helping us with this project.
Greg Miller

Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise
The Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise has selected a project for that day! We are going

to spruce up/clean up and generally give a makeover to a 1/4 mile stretch of

Redwood Blvd. in Novato.  This is a main north/south thoroughfare through Novato

and it is in need of some help!  So, we are going to give it some help!  Our club has

39 members and we hope to get all 39 involved in this project.

Rotary Club of San Rafael Harbor
The San Rafael Harbor Club will be doing some type of Earth Day project in

conjunction with Pickleweed Park.
Mark de Langis & Kris Edwards

Rotary Club of Woodside-Portola Valley
For National Rebuilding Day, our club is partnering with San Mateo Credit Union and

the Peninsula Sunrise Rotary club and sponsoring a house.  We should have close

to 60 volunteers helping us out on April 25th.
Ken Hayes

Rotary Club of Peninsula Sunrise
Peninsula Sunrise will be participating in a project with the organization Rebuilding

Together to update a home within our Redwood City community for a low income/ in

need family.
Brandy M.M. Navarro

Rotary Club of San Bruno
The San Bruno Rotary Club has a project lined up.  We will "update" a
house that is used by the Girl Scouts and is somewhat of a  "community use"
house, for lack of a better term.  Some of our work will begin prior to April 25.
We will replace some appliances and flooring.  There will be some cosmetic
upgrading that will include paint and landscaping.
