District Water & Sanitation Advisory Team (WASAT)

The Water & Sanitation Advisory Team (WASAT) is an outgrowth of the District 5150 Water Resource Group water committee and was organized in 2008.

Our mission is:    "To increase sustainability and public health solutions of Rotary water projects by promoting awareness, offering education and training, and providing collaborative resources."

Our purpose is:  "To support District 5150 Rotarians in assessing, designing, implementing sustainable water projects and through education, promote safe water and hygiene practices on all projects".  Our goals and objectives are aligned with those of the Water and Sanitation Rotarian Action Group, commonly known as WASRAG.

Our vision is: "That all Rotary Clubs within our District can sponsor a major, regional or intra-boundary water project made possible by collaboration between the EWB and Rotary" .

WASAT serves the District 5150 World Community Service Committee by reviewing District Rotary Club matching grant projects while they are undergoing DDF application reviews by the District Grants Committee.

WASAT collaborates with the San Francisco Professional Chapter of Engineers without Borders for their expertise in our review and advisory role.
