The Marin Evening Rotary Club is known as the “The Little Club That Could and Does”. We are a small club that makes a significant impact on our local and international communities. Our club was chartered in 1985 as a county-wide Rotary Club. Some of our accomplishments are constructing seven bridges in the Marin Watershed, Audubon Canyon Ranch and Walker Creek Ranch. We are most active in international service projects sponsoring at least one humanitarian project a year in Latin America for the past 15 years.

“We share a common desire to make a difference in our local and global communities,” says Club President, Carlos Afre. “Rotary provides the opportunity for people to give back; to create positive change and improve the quality of life for many in need.” The Marin Evening Rotary Club is a leader of International humanitarian projects. Our recent projects include: providing clean water and sanitation systems for indigenous villages in Ecuador, supporting microcredit projects and local economies in South American villages, building market infra-structures for local fisherman in Ecuador, facilitating STEM training for teachers in Ecuador. Marin Evening Rotary Club is a vigorous supporter of the PolioPlus project with the goal of eradicating polio globally.

Our local community is also well supported through our funding and service projects. We distribute dictionaries and books to Marin County, California 3rd Graders, host Thanksgiving Dinners and BBQ Socials for our low income Marin Seniors, grant scholarships for local students, and much more.

Marin Evening Rotary Club is especially proud of several of our members including Past 5150 District Governor Jayne Hulbert 2018-2019 and Keith Axtell the recipient of the Rotary International Service Above Self Award for his ongoing dedication to international microcredit projects. In addition, our Rotary club gives out our very own annual “Service Above Self” awards to recognize outstanding representatives from the Marin County Sheriff’s Office and Marin County Fire Department as well as Marin County, California elementary schools. This award helps honor and thank fine public servants who deserve recognition.
