Congratulations to Mike Haase of the Rotary Club of Pacifica for being selected as Rotary District 5150's Rotarian of the Month for June 2023! Even before joining Rotary, Mike did not hesitate to accept an invitation from Rotarian Bob Jacobsen to build planter boxes on Palmetto Avenue in Pacifica for a City Beautification project. Said Mike's wife, Connie, "Mike never thought of joining any club until he found Rotary! Rotary hooked him."
Mike Haase joined the Rotary Club of Pacifica in January 2019 and immediately found his place doing community service. In Pacifica, he has worked on the Grace McCarthy Overlook, painted the Boys and Girls Club, completed Resource Center projects, and pulled weeds and mulched at our Rotary Plaza. It was natural for him to step up and become the Club's Community Service Chair.
Mike always goes beyond what is expected. He is currently our Club's Foundation Chair and Speaker Chair. This past year, he took on the role of Chairman of our Bowl-a-thon and surpassed all expectations! With his passion and drive, Mike tripled our profits for the Bowl-a-thon from an average of $5,000 to $16,500! He volunteered to be on the Board for our new “Wiseman Trust Fund” to help us decide on the best investment policy and procedure for the funds.
Mike is truly a man of many talents and an exemplary leader. When needed, Mike fills in for our Club Secretary, taking minutes at our Board meetings. Mike is the President-Elect Nominee for the 2024-2025 Rotary year. In Rotary, Mike has earned the Paul Harris +5 and is a member of the Paul Harris Sustaining EREY, the Paul Harris Society, and the Polio Plus Society.
Mike is committed to Service Above Self and is a role model for other Rotarians. He is usually the first to volunteer and is extremely generous with his time and talent. We at the Rotary Club of Pacifica are honored to have Mike as our valued member. Mike Haase is most deserving to be recognized as District 5150’s Rotarian of the Month for June 2023!
