Greetings Rotarians! Please enjoy my monthly message for February, including a recap of a recent Polio Immunization trip in India. Many of our members from District 5150 participated in this journey and were greatly impacted by this experience.
Rotary International’s focus this month is Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution. Many Clubs in our District are taking actions to address the underlying causes of conflict, including poverty, inequality, ethnic tension, lack of access to education, and unequal distribution of resources.
There are several Learning and Leadership Development opportunities taking place soon:
- February 23: Membership seminar (Register now, registration closes February 20)
- March 16: District Assembly (Register now, registration closes March 8)
Every Rotary Club should do something special for World Peace and Understanding Day on February 23 (also, its Rotary International’s birthday!). Let’s continue to take action to build goodwill and peace in the world.
Congratulations to our District Rotarian of the Month for January, Patrice Perillo, with the Rotary club of San Francisco West.
Thank you for all that you do for your community and around the world through your Rotary Service.
Jayne Hulbert
