Congratulations to Rotary District 5150 Rotarian of the Month for August 2021, Craig Tackabery from the Rotary Club of Terra Linda!

As Rotarians, we’re used to being around people with a “can-do” attitude.  But sometimes you need a Rotary Club member who can also instill a sense of calm and confidence when things get tough: that’s Craig Tackabery.

Craig joined the Rotary Club of Terra Linda in 2001 and has always been one to rise to the occasion in the spirit of Rotary.  He’s past president (2016-17) and currently is the club’s speaker chair.  He regularly fills other roles as needed.

Craig also co-chairs the club’s scholarship committee, helping to award academic scholarships to graduating seniors from Terra Linda or Marin Catholic High Schools in Marin County.  His passion for youth includes a past role on Terra Linda’s Youth Services committee, helping advise the Terra Linda High School Interact Club.

Speaking of service, Craig helped spearhead a large, multi-club poker fundraising event to fund a Rotaplast mission in Columbia in 2019, which provided cleft lip and/or palate surgeries to children and adults in that area. In addition to attending that mission trip with Rotaplast, Craig has supported Project Amigo, which provides education and healthcare to disadvantaged children of west-central Mexico.

Locally, he regularly participates with the multi-club ExtraFood.org effort to rescue excess fresh food from farmers markets and immediately delivering to nonprofits serving Marin’s most vulnerable children, seniors, and families, helping to address issues of hunger, wasted food & climate change.
In addition to being a “yes” person, club members add he’s a fun guy to be around.

Once again, congratulations to Craig Tackabery from the Rotary Club of Terra Linda as our “Rotarian of the Month” for August 2021!
