Rotary District 5150 proudly recognizes William “Bill” Vespa of the Rotary Club of Novato as our Rotarian of the Month for May 2026.
A dedicated Rotarian for nearly three decades, Bill joined the Rotary Club of Novato on January 5, 1996, and has since become one of the club’s most dependable and respected members. Known for his quiet leadership, generosity, and willingness to help wherever needed, Bill embodies the Rotary spirit of Service Above Self.
Throughout his 29 years of service, Bill has played an essential role in supporting the club’s communications, operations, and outreach efforts. As the longtime owner of a printing business, he generously contributed his expertise to nearly every aspect of the club’s printed materials, including newsletters, member directories, rosters, flyers, stationery, advertisements, and event materials. His behind-the-scenes work has helped strengthen the club’s identity and community presence for years.
Bill is also recognized as one of the club’s key technology leaders, with deep knowledge of ClubRunner and club communications systems. He has been instrumental in producing the club’s longstanding newsletter, The Big Wheel, ensuring members remain informed, connected, and engaged.
In addition to his communications leadership, Bill has served as the club’s Sergeant-at-Arms and as a member of the club’s Endowment Board. He is also deeply committed to The Rotary Foundation, holding numerous recognitions including Paul Harris Fellow +9, Foundation Benefactor, and Clark Palmer Fellow status. His family’s Rotary involvement spans generations, reflecting a deep and lasting commitment to Rotary values.
What stands out most about Bill, however, is his character. He is the kind of Rotarian who quietly says “yes” whenever help is needed—whether supporting community service projects, designing materials, troubleshooting technology, or simply lending a hand. His kindness, humility, institutional knowledge, and steadfast reliability have made him an invaluable part of the Rotary Club of Novato for nearly 30 years.
