Rotary District 5150 is proud to honor Larry Booth of the Rotary Club of San Francisco as the Rotarian of the Month for October 2024*!
Larry Booth has been a dedicated Rotarian since 1986 and joined the Rotary Club of San Francisco in September 2021. He brought with him a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to service. Currently serving as Chair of the Speaker's Committee, Larry has played a pivotal role in organizing a diverse array of high-quality speakers. Under his leadership, the Club has hosted discussions on topics such as economics, driverless cars, healthcare, artificial intelligence, and musical interests, ensuring meetings remain engaging and thought-provoking.
Larry’s service extends far beyond organizing programs. He is a steadfast supporter of both the Club and the broader community. His involvement with The Arc, an organization supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, demonstrates his passion for making a positive impact. Additionally, he has taken on a leadership role in managing registration and the welcoming area for the Club’s Emergency Services Day, showcasing his commitment to hospitality and service.
Larry is known for his warmth, kindness, and infectious sense of humor. He has a natural ability to bring people together, whether through a lighthearted joke, a listening ear, or his readiness to tackle challenges. His positive, can-do attitude is a source of inspiration to everyone around him. Larry’s philanthropic contributions to The Rotary Foundation and the San Francisco Rotary Foundation further exemplify his dedication to Rotary’s mission.
Larry’s professional background as a mechanical engineer has shaped his thoughtful, solution-oriented approach to leadership. His calm determination and reliable nature make him a valued thought partner and a cornerstone of the Club.
