May 2019 Rotarian of the Month:
Keith Axtell of the Rotary Club of Marin Evening

Keith Axtell joined the Rotary Club of Marin Evening in 1995, along with his wife PDG Holly Axtell.  Keith is Past President of the Rotary Club of Marin Evening.  He is a Major Donor to The Rotary Foundation and a member of the Bequest Society, White Hat Society and the Paul Harris Society.

Keith Axtell has been a leader in organizing international humanitarian projects through Rotary. He is currently the head of District 5150’s Technical Cadre for Global Grants, which advises and assists local Rotary clubs with Foundation projects.  He served as Chair of the District Grants Committee for five years, and continues to advise that committee and assist with District Global Grants training.

The country of Ecuador has the benefit of six Rotary Foundation Global Grant projects that Keith coordinated, particularly in the area of microfinance. Before that he managed over twenty projects in Latin America through the Rotary Matching Grant program, including in the countries of Ecuador, Colombia, Panama and Costa Rica.  He has assisted with District trips to Ecuador and Colombia so many of our Rotarians in District 5150 could see the projects where their clubs have participated. For these efforts, Keith was recognized with Rotary’s highest honor, the Rotary Service Above Self award.

We enthusiastically congratulate him as District 5150 Rotarian of the Month!
