Dr. Anne DeLaney is the epitome of Rotary International’s motto “Service Above Self”.  She trained as a plastic surgeon with Rotaplast co-founder, Dr. Angelo Capozzi and did her first Rotaplast mission to Barquisimeto, Venezuela in 2003.  Since then, she has been a volunteer surgeon on 16 Rotaplast missions, often as Medical Team Leader.  She has changed the lives of hundreds of families by performing surgeries for cleft lift, palate and burn scar deformities in Latin America, Asia & Africa.

Anne joined the Rotary Club of Terra Linda (RCTL) in 2006 and served as World Community Service Chair for two terms which culminated with a RCTL sponsored Rotaplast mission to India in 2011 where nine non-medical Rotary volunteers from the RCTL and other District 5150 Clubs performed 130 operations on cleft lip/palate and burn patients.  The trip was a life changing experience not only for the patients but also for the passionate Rotary volunteers.

Outside of her tireless dedication to Rotary, her hobbies include scuba diving, belly dancing, playing the Middle Eastern drum and spending time with her husband Gary, children and grandchildren. The Marin Club Presidents are therefore very pleased to celebrate Dr. DeLaney as District 5150’s Rotarian of the Month for the month of November.
